My mission as an elementary school educator is to lead and motivate students to reach their potential as independent, caring, and adapting future world citizens. I recognize all students can reach their maximum potential with the right encouragement and support. I foster a caring and respectful learning environment where students can explore and learn, interact and be mindful, and can be kids and life-long learners.
I am a technology integrator at the Yangon International School in Yangon, Myanmar. I have been in my current post since August 2016. I teach a pull out technology class to kindergarten and second grade. First grade is currently being piloted in a 1:1 integration model. I also serve as technology coach for teachers, mostly in lower elementary, and also throughout the school.
I entered the Learning Design and Technology graduate program at North Carolina State University to transition from classroom teacher to technology integrator. I was a classroom teacher for seven years before transitioning to my current integrator post. Being a lifelong learner prompted me to further my education as I shifted educational gears.
NC State has prepared me in many ways for my my career as a technology coach. I have acquired invaluable skills in instructional design, inquiry education, and technology leadership.
