According to the law, children have basic rights. One of the children's rights start that no child should be discriminated against because of his/her colour, race, gender, language, religion, political opinion, nationality and disability.

Activity 2

Talk about discrimination and stereotyping in your school or neighbourhood.

1. How can we protect these children dealing with these situations?

2. How can we intervene in changing the people's behaviour towards them?

3. Suggest where they can go find help.

Write about each situation

1. When your friend is involved in something bad that happens in the playground, is it difficult to tell the teacher exactly what happened?

2. A popular learner breaks a class rule and you don’t tell the teacher. Would you also not tell the teacher if a less popular learner breaks the same rules.

3. Have you seen someone in your class or neighnourhood discriminating against or stereotype children? Write about it.
