Formulae

Area of Rectangle = L x W

Area of Triangle = Base x Height divided by 2

Area of Parallelogram = Base x Height

For All other compound shapes you will cut up the figure and work step by step with each sub shape

SKETCH ALL FIGURES

Find the area of the above shapes by counting squares on the squared paper?

What is the area of a rectangle that is 25 cm long and 10 cm wide?

The area of a rectangle is .20 cm sq If the length of the rectangle is ,10 cm what is the width?

What is the area of a triangle if the base is 12cm , and the height 3cm is ?

The area of a triangle is . 16 cm sq If the height of the triangle is 8cm what is the length of its base?

Check below

What is the area of the following compound shapes

What is the area of the following parallelogram?

What is the area of the trapezium?

Acknowledgements BBC Bitesize

Sketch as many rectangles with:

1.Area of 24 cm square

2. Area of 20 cm square

3. Area of 12 cm square

Sketch as many Triangles with the following Area

1. 12 cm square

2. 8 cm square

3. 3 cm square

Sketch as many Parallelograms with the following Area ( Remember The Height is always on the perpendicular line) like in the figures above

1. 10 cm square

2 32 cm square

3. 18 cm square
