Career Consultation

Stephanie Hobbs EIP Teacher,

Shelton Elementary School

Having the opportunity to interview someone about my future dream job opened my eyes as to what it would look like on the job. I learned that this is what I want to do, and I was not disappointed with what I was told about this job. It is a wonderful career and exactly what I'm looking forward to.

I learned how what to expect during this Career. I learned How much school I will need and what requirements I will have to have before becoming a teacher. Stephanie, the elementary school teacher I interviewed, studied at two different colleges, eventually earning her bachelor's degree in early childhood education. I learned that when I become a teacher I can earn promotions, get higher up in education and even change the grade I teach. Stephanie is such an inspiration to me because she has been teaching for 22 years. She explained to me just to always but the kids primarily. She told me how teaching as having a second family. I feel like this interview confirmed my feelings and to doing this job. Working hard to get there and doing everything after high school leads to teaching. Overall I'm really pleased with the way the interview went.
