This chart can be used by students to help them organize ideas, especially the step-by-step process that is described by that article. This graphic organizer can be easily created by students or given to students with titles (for a more guided notetaking experience).
This chart is best used when students are exploring one topic or word. In this case, the students are examining the Value of Creative Writing. The benefit of this graph is that students have to decsribe it in four different ways, but have room for reflection.
This mind map example is scaffolded, as it already has a general structure. After students practice with these, they should be able to make a creatively formatted mind map. Students can use these to connect ideas together in a web. This structure is great for taking notes about more abstract ideas or complex topics, with lots of relationships between ideas.
