Kenpo Jitsu
Kenpo Jitsu taught at Grace Martial Arts finds its expression within its purpose and function of holistically synthesizing karate and jujitsu. The curriculum has been inspired by Seigido Ryu Karate and Jujitsu, Kar-Do-Jitsu-Ryu, Shiho Karano Jujitsu, and Shiho Karano Iaido. It is as linear as it is circular in regards to its scope and sequence; it will build upon all previous instruction as much as it will progressively evolve at each phase of instruction and development. The core components of training are kata, ippon kumite, traditional jujitsu, and fundamental boxing. The integration of those components will be governed by a shared set of interchangeable principles and philosophies. The curriculum is divided into three stages– beginner, intermediate, and advanced–with each stage having two to three tests with their own set of requirements which are formative and summative in scope and sequence.
