Audience: Hiring managers and recruiters for X company that are distributed across the U.S.
Highlights: Branching scenario, custom drag and drop, accordion with motion path, and a quiz
Tool Used: Articulate Storyline
Additional Deliverables: Design doc, Storyboard, Job Aid
Problem: This year, hiring managers and recruiters at X company will be hiring 2000 new members of the technical team. While the hiring managers and recruiters have more of a background in HR, they need more training in interviewing.
Solution: This e-Learning course is designed to fill the gap in interviewing in order to improve the quality of new hires. This training is designed to be done individually and on their own time due to the distributed workforce.
Process: In order to design and develop this course, a needs analysis with SMEs would be conducted first to analyze the audience, identify gaps in knowledge and skills, and determine the learning goals and modality of the training. Then, in the design phase, a design document and storyboard would be created to outline the structure of the course. During the development phase, the course would come to life with Articulate Storyline and go through a couple rounds of feedback. Upon completion, the course would be published and implemented while adhering to compliance frameworks like SCORM or xAPI.
Evaluation: Based on the Kirkpatrick Model, a Level 2 evaluation would assess participant engagement and learner retention, while Level 3 would focus on behavioral changes and the practical application of skills. With the job aid as a reference, hiring mangers and recruiters should apply the interview strategies in the hiring process.
Problem: In relationships where domestic violence occurs, financial abuse is present 99% of the time. Survivors of domestic violence often do not have the resources or the financial literacy to navigate financial safety planning.
Solution: This e-Learning course is the first of six modules to empower survivors of domestic violence. It focuses on understanding financial abuse through topics such as intimate partner violence (IPV) and financially abusive relationships. The modules are available in both English and Spanish.
Process: For this course, I worked with a lead instructional designer who designed and developed the course in English. After I received the translation files, I worked on the Spanish course to ensure that every part of the course was translated to Spanish, that spacing was fixed to accommodate the text in Spanish, and that the course was accessible. I made the course accessible by editing the focus order, adding alt-text to images, and checking color contrast.

Audience: Property managers who will be leading tenants through the process of moving out
Highlights: Click-to-reveal interactions, hot spots, layers, triggers, states
Tools Used: Articulate Storyline, WellSaid Labs
Additional Deliverables: Design doc, Storyboard
Problem: According to data cited in a report by Zillow Rentals, “Over 60% of customer turnover is controllable, with staff performance [being] the largest determining factor in why a tenant moves out” and that “tenants satisfied with property management are more than 3 times as likely to renew.” Therefore, while this training onboards property managers on how to lead tenants through the process of moving out, it also takes time to focus on how to address issues and to collect customer feedback to decrease customer turnover.
Solution: This e-Learning course is designed to onboard property managers on how to lead a tenant through the process of moving out, to learn strategies to save a move-out based on the issue, and to collect valuable customer feedback to improve the experience for the tenant and to ultimately keep good tenants.
Property managers should be able to lead tenants through the process of moving out and address issues to save a move-out. The training can be evaluated based on the percentage of tenants who choose to stay after the reasons for their move out is addressed. This percentage should lead to an overall lower turnover rate. It can also be evaluated by the feedback collected from move-out interviews and surveys. This feedback will be essential to help us create the best tenant experience and also lower the turnover rate.

Audience: Healthcare providers who have not been trained in diagnosing ME/CFS
Highlights: Scenario with a patient, flash cards, hot spots, knowledge checks, resources
Tool Used: Articulate Rise
Additional Deliverables: Design doc
Problem: According to an Institute of Medicine (IOM) report, an estimated 836,000 to 2.5 million Americans suffer from myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), but most of them have not been diagnosed since most medical schools do not have ME/CFS as part of their physician training. This poses a problem for physicians as they are not able to accurately diagnose and treat these patients. With the increase of patients with ME/CFS due to the pandemic, there is an urgent need for physicians to be able to diagnose and treat these patients.
Solution: This e-Learning course was designed to train healthcare providers on diagnosing ME/CFS. This training is designed to be done individually and on their own time due to the distributed workforce.
Process: In order to design and develop this course, a needs analysis with SMEs would be conducted first to analyze the audience, identify gaps in knowledge and skills, and determine the learning goals and modality of the training. Then, in the design phase, a design document would be created to outline the structure of the course. During the development phase, the course would come to life with Articulate Rise and go through a couple rounds of feedback.
The training can be evaluated on whether or not healthcare providers are able to diagnose patients with ME/CFS. This should lead to an increased number of patients being diagnosed accurately.
