Call to Action
Call to Action
We've created a calendar of ways that you can support GPL each month in 2026 starting this April. The goal? To stay in the forefront of the minds of legislators at the State and National level AND to engage with us through a variety of activities. It is because of your continued support that it's easy for us to share our value with elected officials. Our community, and the relationships we continue to build with visitors of all-ages, continues to be one of our highest achievements. The list is simple. Most items will just take a few minutes of your time, but they will make a big impact as we continue to tell our story.
April 19-25th is National Library Week! We're going to celebrate all month by encouraging our patrons to share their library story. Impact stores will be used when talking to legislators, local elected officials, and potentials sponsors. It's also just an amazing morale booster for staff! To share your story, visit our "Share Your GPL Story" form.
Let's reach out to our State and National legislators together to share about your favorite thing about GPL! Did you find your favorite book at GPL? Attend a program you can't stop thinking about? Meet a book-loving friend? Receive some much needed help from a staff member? Let our legislators know! Click here to find contact information for your representatives. Snail mail or email is fine! If you would like to send a handwritten letter, the library will have a station setup with stationary and envelopes.
Are you a resident cardholder looking for something fun to do this summer? Support GPL by signing up for our Summer Reading program! Read books to earn prizes throughout the summer. PLUS - we have a whole calendar of exciting programming for all ages.
Do you typically only use Libby or Hoopla? We get it! Digital books are SUPER convenient! But we'd love to see you in person too! Support GPL this month by stopping by and checking out an item you can hold in your hand - books, DVDs, kits, board games...there's something for every age group!
Do you have a student in the Greenwood Community School Corporation? The library works hard to make sure that every interested student has a GPL card. Support us by checking in with the library to see if your student's card needs to be renewed!
It's Library Card Month! Do you live in GPL's taxing district? (Check the map here) If you are one of our resident cardholders, support the library by talking to a neighbor and encouraging them to come in and get a card!
The 2027 Indiana legislative session should be kicking off in November, making October the PERFECT time to reach out to your representatives to remind them to support their public libraries as they get back to work. Click here to find contact information for your representatives. Snail mail or email is fine! If you would like to send a handwritten letter, the library will have a station setup with stationary and envelopes.
The Greenwood Library Foundation funds 100% of the library's programs and events. GPL would not be able to offer quality programs without them! As the Foundation kicks off its end-of-year giving campaign, please consider supporting them with a financial gift.
Looking for stocking stuffers for this year's holiday season? Want to pick up some cute, bookish items while supporting the library at the same time? Check out our merch store! All proceeds go to the Greenwood Library Foundation.
