We want to give every family the ability and confidence to check out and read as many books as they want this summer.
To help reach that goal, the library will not charge late fees on items returned in June, July and August 2018.
- Do you have overdue items at home? No matter when you checked them out, you can bring them back this summer with NO FINES.
- Have you stopped using the library because of late fees? Financial hardship should not keep anyone from using the public library. Come see us this summer - the library has probably changed since you saw us last!
- Do you limit your children's use of the library for fear of late fees? Families with multiple readers can feel the effects of fines more intensely. The library is in the business of encouraging kids (and people of all ages) to read more, not less. Bring the kids this summer and check something out for everyone with no fear of late fees.
Books will still have due dates, and we encourage you to return your books as soon as you have finished them so someone else can enjoy them. Replacement costs for lost and damaged books will still be charged. But if you find that “lost” book this summer, you can turn it in without worrying about any fines.
