Submission are due Monday, April 16, 2018. Winners will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2018. All entries will be displayed at a culminating event and also on this site.

Thank you for participating in the Greenpoint Eco-Schools "No Idling" Poster Contest. We look forward to seeing your entries.

Who is eligible to participate?

All student attending Greenpoint Eco-Schools PS 31, PS 34, PS 110, MS 126 are eligible to participate.

What do I need to know about entering the contest?

  • All entries must relate to no idling for vehicles.
  • Submissions should include:
    • Parent Name
    • Parent's Email address
    • Student Name
    • School
    • Class / Teacher
  • Art entries can include paintings, drawings or computer generated original artwork. Parents are allowed to work with their child(ren) with artwork.
  • Please complete an Entry Form for each child/student. Hard copy must be handed-in.
  • All entries become the property of Greenpoint Eco-Schools to be used for educational purposes and public service announcements.

How do I enter the contest?

  • Parents (or teachers) should complete an Entry Form for each child submitting a poster to enter into contest
  • Once completed, you may either print entry form and submit with artwork OR submit entry form online and hand in artwork separately.
  • ONLY HARD COPY of the artwork will be accepted for all entries.
    • Once hard copy is submitted, it will be scanned and the image can be viewed on this site.
  • After submitting artwork to contest, parents will receive a confirmation email to the email address provided. Be sure to carefully review your email confirmation for accuracy, and be sure you receive an email confirmation for each child you enter into Poster Contest.
  • Parents should reuse their link to the Entry Form to submit entries for additional children participants.

How and when will the submissions be accepted?

Entries will be accepted from March 1 - April 16, 2018.

How will the entries be judged?

  • Entries will be judged based on creativity in conveying the message (no-idling,) accuracy of information and originality.
  • An impartial panel of eco-judges will review the entries, and select poster winners from various grade levels for EACH SCHOOL (PS 31, 34 and 110 - Grades PreK-1, 2-3, 4-5; for MS 126 - Grades 6-7 and 8). In other words, each school will have a set of "winners."

Who wins?

Parents will be notified by mid-April via email if their child(ren) have been selected as winners or “Clean Air Heroes.” All children will be recognized for their work at the culminating celebration on Earth Day, April 22, 2018. The winning posters will be made into signs to post around their respective schools and neighborhood.

When do we celebrate?

All children (and their families) participating in contest are invited to a culmination celebration / stewardship event on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, 2018. Details of the event will be shared upon artwork submission via email.
