Jesus and The Gospels Four

A Nine Week "Scroll" Through the Jesus Stories

Introduction

When the New Testament was canonized centuries ago into the sacred books we have today, our church leaders could not decide on only one "authorized account" of Jesus. Instead, we have four stand-alone versions that stand together as our revelation of Christ.

The first week of this class we will review the historical and religious landscapes of the first century. Then we will spend one week looking at the earliest and shortest Gospel, Mark. Next, we will spend two weeks each letting Matthew and Luke tell their stories. Then, we will spend two weeks letting John tell his unique version of the Good News followed the next week with a class review and discussion.

As you can tell, this is not a verse-by-verse scriptural study but rather a version-by-version exploration of the life of Christ.
