Our Commitment

At the Gorsefield Charitable Foundation, our first priority is to ensure that every child and young person, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to transformational outdoor experiences. We believe that time spent outdoors — learning, exploring, and working together — builds confidence, resilience, and connection to nature.

Gorsefield Rural Studies and Outdoor Activity Centre has a long history of providing quality outdoor education. Through this Foundation, we are working to widen that reach by removing financial barriers and expanding inclusive opportunities.

What We Aim to Achieve

We focus on funding activities and support that:

• Subsidise visits for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds so cost is not a barrier to participation.

• Support schools with limited budgets to access rural and adventure learning.

• Enable specialist provision for pupils with additional needs, ensuring activities are adapted and fully inclusive.

• Develop transport and access support where logistical challenges prevent attendance.
