The Gordo High School Grenadier Band and Band Boosters proudly announce the 45th annual West Alabama Marching Band Festival to be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Gordo, Alabama.

The Gordo Grenadier Band and Band Boosters have hosted and operated the West Alabama Marching Band Festival since its inception in 1977.

MISSION STATEMENT: The West Alabama Marching Band Festival strives to be first and foremost a good educational experience and a fair competition. For 45 years, we have kept our focus on serving the director and his/her band. In short, we strive to be THE BEST competition you and your bad will attend this year! We continue to listen to suggestions as we continually work to improve our contest experience.

CLASSIFICATION OF BANDS:

Class F: Bands in their 1st year of competition

Class E: 0-20 Winds

Class D: 21-35 Winds

Class C: 36-50 Winds

Class B: 51-70 Winds

Class A: 71+ Winds

AWARDS:

• All units receiving a superior (80-100) or an excellent (60-79.9) will receive a trophy.

• Overall Best in Class is determined by totaling and averaging ALL of each band's scores in all categories.

• A Best Overall Trophy will be presented in each caption.

• The Performance Trophy will be awarded to the band from classes F through D with the highest overall GE score.

• The Mayor's Trophy will be awarded to the band from classes C through A with the highest overall GE score.

GENERAL ADMISSION: $10 AT THE GATE

Because of our beautiful turf field, fire batons and fireworks are not allowed.
