Faith Formation provides the support, education and faith development for our children from Pre-K through the 8th grade. We seek to touch the hearts of our students, through Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church in such a way as to cultivate a living, breathing faith which will fill their souls and continue to deepen and grow for the rest of their lives. Contact the parish office for details on dates, times and locations. Please consider being part of a child’s faith formation.
We have two wonderful Faith Formation Programs, one at Good Shepherd and the other at Immaculate Conception. Our programs are there to assist parents in the Religious Education of their children in the Roman Catholic Faith.
Over the last year we have had several of our teachers move on to other ministries in the church and are looking for a few more teachers or classroom aides. If you look up Faith Formation Teacher on Google, you will find the following: A
“A Faith Formation Teacher is a responsible, sensitive person who understands and enjoys the age level of the students they choose to teach. One must have good communication skills. A teacher must have the ability to provide a welcoming, secure learning environment while upholding rules and regulations.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a practicing Catholic. You DO NOT HAVE TO BE a certified teacher to teach in our classrooms. A high school degree or higher is welcome. There are a few child-protective training courses that must be taken entitle VIRITUS (and they can be done ”on-line).
If you feel uncomfortable teaching in a classroom, we are also looking for classroom aides who will assist the teacher. Parents might want to consider this option since you come to drop off and pick up your children for these classes.
God has blessed both Good Shepherd and Immaculate Conception with solid Faith Formation Programs. It is our hope to continue these programs. We need your help. Consider becoming either a Faith Formation Teacher or a Classroom Aide.
If you are interested, please fill out the form below and drop it in the collection basket or mail it to the parish. God Bless you for your consideration of this important matter.

Please be aware the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation require our children to attend 2 years of Faith Formation. If they have not attended
the required 2 years, they will be moved appropriately to fulfill the requirement.
We will be reserving the first pew on the right-hand side of the church at the 11:00 AM mass, so that your child can attend mass right after class with one or more of our teachers. Parents will be responsible for picking their child up after mass at 11:30-11:45.
In addition, students have the option to attend 5 different parishes for Faith Formation classes. Once a Parish is selected, they must stay with those classes. There is no bouncing back and forth to different Parishes. Options are:
St. Patrick’s in White Haven on Sundays from 9:00 – 10:00 AM
St. Jude’s in Mt. Top on Sundays at 9:30 – 10:40 AM or Mondays 6:00 – 7:15 PM
Immaculate Conception in Freeland on Sundays from 9:30 – 10:45 AM
Good Shepherd in Drums on Sunday or Monday evenings from 4:30 – 5:30 PM
St. John Bosco in Conyngham on Sundays from 10:00 – 11:10 AM
Attention students in need of service hours:
Students in middle school and high school all need service hours if they want to participate in the junior national honor Society and the national honor Society, that’s grades seventh through 12th. It’s also good for your resumes for college to show you were helping your community and church, especially if you’re an altar server. If you are interested in helping during the festival please call the office and leave your name and phone number.
