Summer Training 2024
Tentative fall 2024 race schedule (will be posted in June)
Cross country is open to all students. There are no try-outs or cuts - runners of all ability levels may compete. The only requirements are: (1) come to practice every day; (2) work hard and take the sport seriously; (3) participate in all team races. More information for new runners/parents is here.
Official practices will start on (details TBA). We will run weekdays at 8:30am (time TBA depending on weather forecast) until orientation starts. Information about vaccination and other medical requirements will come from the headmaster's office. Saturdays will be at Carderock as during the rest of the summer; 8:30 start time. Other notes about pre-season practice:
Bring your own water and a snack for after practice
Masks are required inside buildings on campus
Check-in on Mon Aug 14 will be on Eye St. Bring your medical paperwork if it's not already uploaded
Pre-season practices will take roughly 1.5-2 hours. If we bus to the arboretum or another location it might be a bit longer.
Athletes should be dressed to run when they report for practice. Practices will last approximately 2 hours.

It is important to keep track of your summer mileage! Get into the habit of recording your miles daily - it's often hard to remember the details when you look back at the end of the week.
