Golgi Farm was founded in 2017 as a small-scale, organic, locally-focused urban farm. I borrowed land in Commerce, MI, and grew seedlings in my hoop-house in my backyard in Milford.
I sold my produce at the Milford farmer’s market, and ran a farm-share “CSA” program each year.
Farm events were my way to teach the community about the importance of small-scale agriculture, as well as inspiring and educating children on growing your own food, and community. These events were some of my favorite days on the farm.
Over the years, I hosted numerous volunteers and hired two employees. My first ever volunteer, Hannah, quickly became my best friend and remains so to this day.
The farmer’s market was not just how I funded my business, it was my community. I made lasting friends through my years selling there, and still support the market as a customer.
