As we prepared to return home from Paris, we made one more stop in Beaune, the heart of Burgundy. We learned about the history and lore of the storied wine region, and how wine auctions supported Hotel Dieu as a hospital for the poor for centuries. We admired the architecture, the food, and, of course, the wine.
