As an owner of a Golden Retriever, I can say confidently that they are the most friendliness breeds but also very hard work, as every dog is. Golden retrievers are well known for their friendliness and loyalty to their owners. They have quite a high pain tolerance, meaning they can handle a substantial amount of pain. This is the reason of retrievers being good hunting dogs. Another reason as to why they are good hunting dogs is because when they retrieve, they are able to bring the object that was hunted back in one piece, due to their gentleness with their mouths. This also adds to why they are a gentle dog breed. Golden Retrievers are gentle and loyal, which makes them good guide dogs for the blind and deaf. Golden retrievers are a cross-breed, originating from a tweed water spaniel and a yellow flat coated retriever. This happened back in the 1800's.
FUN FACT: The loudest bark from a dog was from a Golden Retriever in 2012, Charlie.
Although owning a golden retriever is great and they are amazing breeds, there comes a lot of jobs alongside all the cuddles. One being brushing them constantly as they have a long fury coat. Due to this hoovering and cleaning the floors in your house also becomes hard work as golden retrievers shed a tun. One other thing is walking them, they need at least a 1 hour walk per day, as they have so much energy to let off.
