Retrievers are very well known for being hunting dogs and hunting for birds in the wild. It is in their name 'retriever' Not only is this type of breed able to receive the birds, but they are able to bring it back to their owner unharmed due to their soft mouth.

Not many people relate Golden Retrievers with hunting because hunting can be known as unsafe, wild and dangerous which is the complete opposite of what the Golden retriever breed is.
