What a blast! The Gold Country Ghost Tour was unlike many ghost tours as it was not cheesy but stayed true to the facts. The actors relayed their stories with a well played delivery. It was a great way to learn some of Auburn’s colorful and spooky past.

Another great event! Actors were really into their roles and believable. Some new locations added some spice to the evening. Melany and her crew are fantastic!

This was our 6th time attending the ghost tour and it never fails to dazzle us. We love that the familiar characters are still present, but we saw some new faces this year and learned more about their stories. The volunteers all do an amazing job and we are so appreciative of their efforts! Thank you for another wonderful tour!

I was so truly impressed!  The organization from tickets, to check in, to touring.  Each stop was so well-done!  The set/decor, costume, presentation - and the actors were phenomenal!  I loved it more than I expected and can’t wait to (hopefully) do it again!! Great job Mel and crew!  Well done!

We didn’t know what we were getting into and I have been raving about it the past week as it was FANTASTIC! It was rich in history, the actors/actresses were great at giving their stories. Having extra actors/actresses throughout the streets was an added plus. I can’t wait until next year as I would go again. 

First time on the tour and we were blown away—very interesting, captivating and educational!  So much more than I expected.  The execution and attention to detail was almost flawless.  Nicely, nicely done.

This is the one event I look forward to the most each year.  I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it, and I love all things Auburn!  The new locations are awesome each year, it’s so exciting to go into our historic buildings and see the inside of locations usually not available to the public.  The added kid ghosts and zombies were awesome and so fun!!!!  They startled me a few times and just added so much Halloween fun!

Was fabulous. Very organized… The actors were very into their roles! Highly recommend this event 

SO enjoyed my time traveling with the Ghosts of Auburn this year. What a treat to cruise through my town and learn things I never knew before about where I live.

After seeing this on Facebook our group of six decided to visit your wonderful town of Auburn.  We ended up getting a hotel room since we came from the Chico area and let me just say, it was soooo worth the trip. Your event was so well organized.  From the emails full of information to the ease of checking in.  We loved the carriage hurst on display as well as the tshirts for sale.  Our tour guide for the pink group and his son were wonderful.  Getting us from spot to spot without anyone getting left behind. Having the crossing guards ensured our safety and was most appreciated.  

Each ghost from the past was absolutely fantastic!!!!  You would swear they were professional actors.  We really liked them being mic’ed up and we had no problem hearing any of them.  The stories were great and we liked how most of the stories connected to our next stop.  And their outfits and makeup were on par with Hollywood! You really put time into making this event great and it really showed.  Again, I can’t say enough about your local ghost story tellers. They were SO good. Especially that Rattlesnake Dick guy! What a character!

We also enjoyed Drinks With The Dead to finish off the night. Again, well organized and a lot of fun. Started the night with spirits and ended the night with spirits; but the kind that taste good!  And with some drink recipes to mix up. We all said we would return next year.  So until then, see ya same time, same place in 2023. I would only suggest to change some of the spirited ghost stories to keep people coming back year after year.  Just so they can learn new Auburn history each year.

The tour was amazing. I thought the group size was perfect. You were able to see and hear character perfectly. Sometimes we were near the front and other times we were in the back. Either way was fine. The woman that walked us through the tour lived in auburn her entire life so she was able to provide some added history.  The actors were fabulous.  This event was so well done! The volunteers worked extra hard to put our group together even though we bought tickets separately. Our family is really into the telling of ghost stories. We love all the TV shows and and looked forward to the  Auburn Ghost Tour....our first time!  My sister + nephew came from Redding to join us in this adventure. We dressed up in our finest period clothing (we even won prizes!) and joined in the fun. I loved the fact it was interactive. My family + I were drawn into it and became part of the program on several of the stops along the way. Such fun! We also learned some very interesting facts about Auburn's history, which I really appreciate. Being a history buff, I like to know everything I can about a location + time in history. My family moved to Nevada City in 1984. I was born + raised in CA in 1951 (yes, I really am that old!)  and I never tire of this state's history. So thank you for putting this event together for families such as us to have the opportunity to dress up and go have some fun!   - Lynda, Nevada City, CA

It was great! My husband and I really like the tour, it was fun and a lot to learn about the area.  We are from Roseville, so not to far...but still to learn more of what is around is great....and love the town of Auburn so nice...and the people are very friendly also.  Keep up the good work and would love to be there next year also for the tour or other events for that matter.  I love all the shops too..:)  - Betty Lee, Roseville, Ca

This was our first year doing the Auburn Ghost Tour and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The volunteers do a fantastic job of portraying the characters they represent and it's clear they enjoy what they're doing. The detail in the stories they tell are great. Hello! This was my first time attending the Auburn Ghost Tour and I had a great time! I highly recommend it if you are into history and ghosts! The people in the town are very passionate about their history and did a great job putting everything together. Their costumes were awesome! There were a lot of good stories and information, especially the spooky stuff that still goes on. The Courthouse was one of my favorites and is definitely haunted in my opinion!  I hope this tradition continues on, as I would definitely go again!  -Michelle, Roseville Ca

We had a great time at the event, our guests from Rocklin did too!  The docent had her hands full keeping the group together but she did a great job.  Loved that everyone from check-in to docent to actors were in costume.  The ghosts were a good variety and all were interesting and just the right amount of history and spooky to hold the interest of all in our group.  We were surprised how many people were NOT from Auburn!  The word is out so we will be ready to buy tickets again as soon as they go on sale!  Hauntingly yours,   Sheila  Auburn, Ca 

Thank you for putting on a good event.  I was born and raised in Auburn, CA but my husband came from Needles, CA and never heard the ghost stories around town.  Not something to normally discuss especially since we don't go to old town to socialize.  Not sense Shanghai Bar closed anyway.  Of the 10 stops, there were only 2 or 3 stories I had not heard at one time or another through my life.   It was good my husband was able to hear all of them in such a fun way.  For such a large gathering, I was amazed at how well organized and orderly it all went.  Your group did a wonderful job with this event.  The dressing up of all speakers was a good touch, made a person feel they were watching the past.   I liked how the Placer High School students also helped.  With the crossing of streets and in our group, they also led us and had a final person at the back, ensuring all were safe and accounted for.   I even witness our "end couple" talk to a few crossing males, reminding them of their manners.  It was refreshing to see polite young adults.   Thank you for the good time.   -Randy and Kellie  Auburn,  CA

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the event. A fun learning experience. We loved it all, actors, actresses and the merchants. True stories very factual and eyewitnesses telling their own experiences !!!!!!
