Frequently Asked Questions:
WHERE DO WE MEET AND WHERE DO WE PARK? Check in is at the Historic Auburn Courthouse at 101 Maple St, Auburn, CA 95603. Parking can be a challenge, so arrive early! There is a large parking lot that is accessible off of Auburn Folsom Rd just past the courthouse. If you're familiar with Auburn, it's where the Farmer's Market is held on Saturday mornings.
WHAT TIME IS CHECK IN? Check in starts one hour prior to your tour time. You will NOT receive a refund for being late or missing the tour for any reason.
WHAT TO WEAR? We highly recommend dressing up for the occasion! We recommend dressing anything from 1849-1920. Other than that, wear comfortable shoes, dress weather appropriate, and bring water if you so chose. The tour is rain or shine, so please dress accordingly and bring an umbrella if the forecast shows rain.
BATHROOMS? There are no easily accessible restroom stops on this tour. There is a public restroom next to the famous firehouse and in the courthouse.
HOW LONG IS THE TOUR? There are 10 stops on the tour. The tour generally take 90 minutes.
WHEELCHAIR/ ADA ACCESSIBLE? Unfortunately, due to the terrain and age of the buildings, this tour is not ADA accessible. There are stairs to be traversed, un-even ground, and fairly steep walking paths. This is not a "flat walking path tour," this is the real deal.
NO DRINKING OR OTHER SUBSTANCES. Due to potential safety issues, walking hazards, and in respect to the other patrons, we reserve the right to refuse admittance or remove you from the tour if you show up intoxicated. You will be removed with no refund.
ARE ANIMALS ALLOWED? Due to the high number of people who are on this tour, only Service Animals are allowed. Although you love your pet, everyone else might not for a variety of reasons including allergies. Please keep your pet at home. Thank you for your understanding.
ARE KIDS WELCOME? We do not recommend this tour for kids under the age of 8. There is discussion of murders, suicides, ghosts, and more. It's also a bit of a long tour and kids under 8 may have a hard time staying involved for the entire tour.
DO WE TIP? Gratuity for your tour guide or other members of the troupe are not expected, but are always appreciated.
CAN I TAKE PICTURES? Yes! By all means! You are welcome to take pictures! If you happen to catch a ghostly image we would love to see it!
IS THIS A HAUNTED HOUSE TYPE TOUR? Nope. Although some of our stops will leave you with chills down your spine, there won't be anyone jumping out behind a building to scare you.
This tour is an AT YOUR OWN RISK event and by participating you are there to have fun!
