Welcome, brave soul.
You’ve been called to these haunted streets not by chance — but by the whispers of Auburn’s past. Here in Old Town Auburn, every stone, shadow, and spirit holds a story. Our ghost tours invite you to walk where the restless still linger… and to listen.
We are fiercely devoted to preserving Auburn’s past. Every tale we tell is true — a thread in the golden tapestry of our town’s legacy. These stories are not fiction. They are history brought back to life… before time fades them forever.
People come from all over the country drawn by our ghosts — but they leave in love with Auburn. With its charming shops, spirited locals, incredible restaurants, and breathtaking nature, Auburn is a place where gold still glimmers — in both history and heart.
This is more than a tour. It’s a mission. 100% of proceeds go to local nonprofits that support our community’s children, families, and those in need. In this way, Auburn’s ghosts — villain or hero — continue to serve the living.
With deepest gratitude to the Placer County Docent Guild and Museums, the Soroptimists of Auburn, the Native Sons of the Golden West, the Bowman DC Club, Confluence High School, and all the passionate volunteers who bring this event to life (and afterlife).
Now in Our 9th Year — and Year Two of the Live Stage Show!
Ladies and Gentlemen… you are officially summoned.
Step into the shadows of Old Town Auburn for an unforgettable journey into the haunted heart of California’s Gold Country. Whether you choose to wander the ghostly streets or sit back and enjoy the show, you’re in for a chilling experience rooted in true stories, real history, and legendary spirits.
Auburn’s streets hold secrets… and our ghosts are ready to share them.
This hauntingly fun 2-hour walking tour leads you to 10 of Old Town’s most notorious historic sites, where you’ll meet the unforgettable figures who once walked these very streets — and who may still linger in the shadows. Characters like Alma Bell, Rattlesnake Dick, Adolf Weber, and more will greet you as their stories come to life through theatrical encounters and historical detail.
This is not a haunted house or a cheap jump-scare experience. This is real history — Auburn’s darker side, told with reverence, intrigue, and just the right amount of spine-tingling tension.
If you loved the walking tour, you’ll be captivated by our ghostly stage performance — no walking required!
Held in the haunted Odd Fellows Hall, in use since 1895, this theatrical experience brings Auburn’s most infamous spirits to center stage. With ghostly storytelling, atmospheric lighting, and immersive performances, you’ll meet the same iconic characters in a new and unforgettable way.
