Do I have to own an animal to be in that animal project?
No, none of our animal projects require you to own that animal to join. So, for example, you can join the swine project, even if you don't own a pig. Sometimes projects will have activities that use animals, and in most cases you can use borrow an animal, or learn by watching.
What is the 'Find Your Spark' project?
The Find your spark project is an independent project, in which the member chooses what they would like to learn about. It can be something that is not offered as a project or a project that they would like to take further. The 4-Her meets with the advisor for help and guidance through the process. It counts in your record book as any other project would.
Are there extra fees for each project?
Projects are free to join. There usually is no fee, but occasionally there will be a small donation needed to offset the cost of materials or instruction provided in the project. The project leader will inform you of this if it is necessary, and donations will never be excessive.
What are the requirements for showing an animal at fair?
To complete the project, complete a record book and attend 80% of club meetings.
How do I find out what projects your club offers?
In order to find out what projects a particular club offers you have to begin the enrollment process. There is no obligation, but it is the easiest way to see what a club offers. Once you select a club, on the screen that follows you can add projects and that will bring up a drop down list.
To find out what is offered countywide, you select or "add" countywide as a club.
