Hello, my name is Tamara Moore. I am the Director of Show Management for the El Dorado County Fair & Event Center, founder of Gold Rush Gymkhana, and Director of Training and Programs at Shingle Springs Stables. My horsemanship journey spans decades and disciplines, including 10 years studying under international judge Pati Hughes-Fudge, instructing at the Sierra Nevada Riding Academy in Truckee, CA, and working ranch horses under the guidance of  Perea, an authentic vaquero. I’ve trained with Joey Garcia, five-time Paso Fino World Champion, worked cutting horses under NCHA Hall of Famer Monty Buntin, and guided beach trail rides in Puerto Rico with Pintos-R-Us.

While hard work and horsemanship have shaped my life, nothing compares to the joy my son, Bjorn, and my students bring me. I am deeply grateful to share my experience through lessons and training in Shingle Springs, CA, with the goal of fostering confident, and connected future equestrians. Raised by generations of strong women, I learned early on the value of communication, patience, and partnership with horses. Horses have carried me through my darkest days, as they have for so many others—and it is my privilege to help riders of all ages build confidence, courage, and connection along the way. I look forward to building community, nurturing growth, and sharing the joy and healing that horses so generously give.
