At the GTTI Examination Office, we oversee the administration of all internal and external examinations, ensuring integrity, fairness, and compliance with national standards.
We coordinate all exam-related activities including:
Internal assessments & end-of-term exams
External exams (KNEC, KASNEB, NITA, TVET CDACC)
Marking, moderation & results processing
Registration for national examinations
Management of transcripts and results slips
Examination scheduling and venue arrangements
π Internal Assessments
Theory: 3 assessments per subject per term, contributing 100% to coursework.
Practical: 3 assessments per subject, based on trainerβs plan.
End-of-Term Exams: Count for 70% of theory subject coursework.

Handled by national examining bodies:
KASNEB
Students must:
Attend at least 75% of classes to register
Complete required documentation (PoE file, marked scripts, observation checklists)
Pay exam fees as outlined in the fee structure
Follow deadlines and registration instructions posted by the exam office
Timetables are released in advance on the notice boards and digital platforms
Internal exams are conducted in the last 5 days of each term
Supplementary exams are scheduled before the start of the next term
External exam dates are communicated at least 14 days prior
Invigilators: Oversee exam sessions, ensure rules are followed
Supervisors: Manage invigilators and exam logistics
Subject Tutors: Set and mark exams, support students with special papers
Class Tutors: Track attendance, ensure coursework is up to date
Heads of Department: Approve papers, moderate results, and oversee academic progress
Supplementary: For referred units; max two attempts. Theory (Ksh. 500), Practical (Ksh. 1000)
Special: For students who missed exams with valid reasons (written request required)
Forms of malpractice include:
Unauthorized materials in the exam room
Mobile phone possession
Collusion or impersonation
Consequences include:
Disqualification from the day's paper (score: 0)
Being barred from remaining exams
Possible disciplinary action
Be punctual: arrive 15 minutes before exams
Late arrivals (after 30 mins) are not allowed
Bring only authorized materials
Attend at least 75% of lessons to qualify for exams
Sign attendance sheets each session
Visit the Examination Office for support with:
Registration or fee questions
Missing results or transcripts
Supplementary exam scheduling
Appeals or remarking requests
