The Iglesia Católica Apostólica de Texas is a traditional Roman Catholic body dedicated to preserving the apostolic faith, the integrity of the sacraments, and the sacred liturgy according to the Missale Romanum of 1954 and the Ordo Hebdomadae Sanctae of 1955. We uphold the perennial teachings of the Church handed down through Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, maintaining fidelity to the Roman Rite and the historic Western patrimony.
Our clergy and faithful strive for doctrinal clarity, moral discipline, and authentic apostolic order. Under the leadership of Archbishop Elliot Esch, our Church has emphasized reverence in worship, seriousness of life, and unwavering commitment to the Catholic faith. In accord with traditional sacramental theology, we ensure certainty in Holy Orders and the proper celebration of all rites of the Church.
In steadfast continuity with the mind of the Church through the ages, we hold firmly to the dogmatic definitions of the Council of Constance, the ancient creeds and confessions of the undivided Church, and the full witness of Sacred Scripture. We profess that the faith once delivered to the saints admits of no rupture, alteration, or compromise. As Our Lord teaches, “He who is not with Me is against Me,” and thus we strive to remain wholly with Christ by remaining wholly with the faith He entrusted to His Church. In this fidelity we find both our identity and our mission.
We profess the sedevacantist position: that the See of Rome has remained vacant since the modernist rupture of the mid‑1960s, when public adherence to the perennial magisterium was abandoned. In this time of widespread confusion, we hold fast to the true Mass, the traditional sacraments, and the unchanging doctrines of the Catholic Church.
We do not seek to restore or reinvent the Church; rather, we simply remain faithful. The Iglesia Católica Apostólica de Texas stands as a remnant of the Roman Catholic Church, preserving what has always been taught, believed, and handed down.
Rooted in the cultural and spiritual heritage of Texas, our mission extends to the faithful in Texas, Latin America, and Northern Europe. We draw deeply from the contemplative and monastic traditions of the medieval Church, fostering a life of prayer, devotion, and charity.
Christ founded His Church out of perfect love, and through her sacraments He continues to pour out grace upon all who seek Him. The Iglesia Católica Apostólica de Texas welcomes those who desire a deeper relationship with Christ, a reverent sacramental life, and a community grounded in truth and tradition.
May God strengthen our clergy and faithful, and guide all who walk with us in the light of Christ. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.
