The project is funded under the "Erasmus+" Sport Small-Scale Cooperation Partnerships Programme and aims at promoting green environmental practices in sport events and building the environmental capacity of both the partners and the sport clubs, NGOs and schools in the partnering local communities so they can become green role models for the local youth and citizens.
The project will also promote European mass sport initiatives such as MOVE Week and European Week of Sport in the partnering countries of Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Greece and Croatia.

Under the sport section organisations can implement Small-scale cooperation projects, Cooperation Partnership projects, Not-for-profit European sport events and Capacity Building in the field of sport.
In addition to offering grants for learning mobility and sport activities, Erasmus+ also supports teaching, research, networking and policy debate on EU topics with the Jean Monnet Sub-programme of Erasmus+

PROJECT PARTNERS
The "Youth ad Civil Initiatives in the Rose Valley" NGO is the project coordinator from the town of Karlovo, Bulgaria. The NGO has over 17 years of experience in European partnership projects. The organisation has been working in the field of sport and healthy lifestyle promotion since its establishment in 2007 implementing local, national and international projects. Since 2016 the NGO is a MOVE Agent implementing mass sport activities for the people in the Municipality of Karlovo. Annually, the NGO organises different sport events for European Move Week, European Week of Sport, European Flashmob and Fitness Days in collaboration with local schools, sport and dance clubs.
The NGO coordinated and implemented successfully the "STARS of Women" SSCP(2021) and "PRESS" SSCP (2022) projects fostering respectively better social inclusion of women and rural youth in sport in partnership with Romanian, Polish, Cypriot, Lithuanian and Egyptian partners.
The Romanian partner is the Association “Mod of Life” which has been taking part in the sport life of Mehedinti County since their NGO’s establishment. The Association, together with the Romanian Basketball Federation, Mehedinti County Sports Department and CS Heart Drobeta Turnu Severin were part of the organizing committee for some of the biggest sport events in the region such as:
ALL STAR GAME, BALKAN SPORT FOR ALL GAMES,BALKAN BASKETBALL GAMES FOR JUNIORS, FINAL TOURNAMENT OF NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP U-16,CARPATI TROPHY for Senior women national Handball teams ROMANIAN FOOTBALL FIRST LEAGUE. The president of Mod of Life was president of CS Turnu Severin, the only team from this area that played in the Romanian football league in the entire history of football;
The organisation has the staff and facilities to organize and host local, national and international sport events considering the fact that Drobeta Turnu Severin has a Sports Hall (1800 places), 3 football Stadiums, 6 tennis courts, many sport clubs and diverse sports facilities.
The NGO partnered also in the 2021 and 2022 SSCPs "STARS of Women" and "PRESS- Promoting Rural youth Engagement through Sport and Social Inclusion"
The “Blue Cherry” Association from Cyprus is an organisation from Limassol working for youth and adults’ empowerment, skills and knowledge transfer. They have been partnering with the local municipality and Rotary Club to design and implement the Limassol coastal lane where street fitness facilities, bike alleys, table tennis, skateboard and other street sports fields have been arranged for the citizens and tourists of Limasol. The organisation is taking part in the Cyprus National Health Programme for promotion of healthy lifestyle and sport for all.
They took part in the 2021 SSCP "Stars of Women" and the 2022 SSCP "PRESS" hosting Partnership bike rides along the Limmassol coastal lane as well as a dragon boat partnership rowing. For this project we will cooperate with the dragon boat sports club to clean up the dam where they train giving example of green practices in sport.
The Greek partner is a newcomer in the sport field but they have years of experience of working with Erasmus+ KA1 projects as well as in cooperation with high schools. We have partnered with them in big Europe for Citizens projects and Erasmus+ youth exchanges and training courses and know them as reliable and dedicated partners implementing quality projects. They have excellent relations with local stakeholders organising meetings with mayors, local councilors, school principals and teachers. For the purposes of this project they will reach local sport clubs, engaging them in the local sport events and contribute to reaching the project objectives.
The "Sportancija" NGO is also a new-comer in the field of sport and Erasmus+ Programme recently established in 2021 with main aim to promote sport and healthy lifestyle among children and youth. They are located in the rural municipality of Jarmina in Croatia with limited sport opportunities with only one football club active so they are doing their best to promote different sport activities among local citizens. They have already implemented several sport events and tournaments for children and are eager to raise the environmental and sport culture of local youth.
