DIGITAL RECORDINGS POLICY– October 2020
We recognise the need to safeguard the children and young people taking part in the Grantham Music Festival.
This policy has been created for the specific situation with Covid 19 restrictions as they are in October 2020 and considering a full lockdown maybe in place at the time of the Festival in March 2021.
It will apply to all Instrumental Groups and Choirs over 5 people, but will also come into effect if the Grantham Music Festival Committee has to cancel the Festival completely.
Digital recordings should include video and audio and be in an mp4 format.
The full VIDEO recording will be shared with the Adjudicator & Committee members, for use during the Festival week as per the normal programmed session. These sessions may well have an audience in the venue, as per a LIVE session and therefore be shown on the TV screens within Christ Church, Finkin Street.
An AUDIO version may well be used to enable sharing with schools / groups who cannot be present at the session due to Covid Restrictions.
The AUDIO version may also be used for publicity or shared via the Grantham Music Festival website.
For teachers and schools who make multiple entries, it is the responsibility of the teacher or school to ensure any children who should not be photographed do not appear in the videos – (but they can be included on the audio track.)
In the eventuality that all entries have to be digital because the Festival is cancelled, digital recordings will be requested from entrants, and by providing them the parents/ guardians and or teachers agree to their use as outlined above.
Our policy and practice are regularly reviewed by the Committee of the Grantham Music Festival with advice from the NSPCC and British & International Federation of Festivals.
