Chairman’s Introduction
It is with great pleasure that the Festival committee bring you the syllabus for the 64th Grantham Music Festival. Thank you once again to all who took part in last year’s Festival whether as performers, teachers, audience or helpers. I am sure you will agree it was an exciting and enjoyable celebration of the breadth of musical talent there is in Grantham and beyond.
This year we will be welcoming two adjudicators, both of whom are new to the GMF: James Kirby and Roy Robinson. Please do look out for some video introductions from James and Roy in the new year.
We also have some changes within our vocal classes, including a re-introduction of set pieces for the Primary vocal solo classes.
Where possible we will try to schedule the following classes within the week as follows:
Tuesday Morning: Primary School Choirs
Tuesday Afternoon: Secondary School Choirs
Wednesday Morning: Primary School instrumental groups
Wednesday Afternoon: Primary Music Making
Thursday: Piano
Friday: Strings
Saturday: adult choirs and older singers
Other instruments and vocal solos will fit in depending on numbers etc and will include some evening sessions.
The GMF committee reserve the right to make changes to this timetable depending on the number of entries and to make best use of the adjudicator’s time
As ever the Festival could not run without the support of our wonderful volunteers, patrons and sponsors. If you would be willing and able to help us in any way please contact our general Secretary, Elizabeth. We would love to welcome you into the GMF team.
I look forward to seeing you all in 2026.
Best wishes,
