The GMAC2023 organizing committee endorses the following expectations of professional conduct and inter-personal behaviour by all participants.
All GMAC2023 participants are expected to:
abide by the International Science Council's rules on Freedoms and Responsibilities of Scientists, which we encourage all participants to read.
create a positive environment for discussions, collaborations, and networking by behaving with honesty, integrity, and the highest professional and ethical standards of conduct in their research, administration, communications, and inter-personal interactions.
treat all other participants with professional courtesy, and to provide an environment that is free from harassment and bullying, regardless of gender, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, career status, and relationship status.
NOT use threatening behaviour, sexual language and imagery, cultural and religious denigrations, sexist, racist, or otherwise exclusionary jokes and comments.
Any participant who experiences behaviour contrary to the above expectations should report their concerns, in confidence, to any one of the organizing committee members, who will follow up on the issue with the utmost attempt to maintain anonymity of the complainant where possible. Failure to follow this code can lead to administrative actions including but not limited to reprimand, expulsion from the conference, and reporting to relevant authorities if necessary.
