Glynis Raisch has been teaching art to students in grades K-8 at St. Genevieve School in Flourtown, PA for the past 10 years. A designer, seamstress, painter, dreamer, and animal lover, Glynis holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Her teaching philosophy is centered on nurturing a love and appreciation for the creative process. Through a variety of projects, materials, and tools, she encourages students to explore their creativity and develop new skills. Glynis believes that drawing is a vital tool for self-expression, fostering both strong observational abilities and problem-solving skills. She strives to instill a lasting appreciation for art that students will carry with them beyond the classroom.
Outside of teaching, Glynis can often be found in her basement studio, where she works on a variety of projects, with her most recent focus being papier maché sculptures. She is also an active member of the Cheltenham Center for the Arts and Artessa Alliance, an award-winning group of women visual artists in the Philadelphia area.
