Kanye, not Ye. Pre-Vultures, Kanye easily had the best discography in all of rap. His debut album, The College Dropout is one of the best debut albums to ever be recorded. Not to mention how influential he is. We wouldn't have Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, Drake or Lil Uzi Vert. And that's just naming a few. If we didn't have Kanye, we wouldn't have the rap we have today.
Need I say more? His storytelling and lyricism skills are far beyond competing with. This is the 21st century prodigy of rap. From albums like good kid, m.a.a.d city to masterpieces like To Pimp a Butterfly, one theme is common, not a single skip is present. His rise from Compton to the G.O.AT. of all rap is truly admirable and there is no arguing that he is the best to every use the mic.
His rebellious creativity grabs you by the neck. "This is me, Tyler Okonma". And I love it. Sure, his early works like Bastard and Goblin weren't great. But post-Goblin can effortlessly be debated as a top 10 discography. Gems like IGOR and Call Me If You Get Lost are an insight to his genius mind. Not to mention his amazing endeavours in the fashion industry.
A stand-out figure in experimental, underground rap. His chill and odd discography make for a great mostly listening experience. His infectious bars combined with his interesting production get you lost in a world of vibes and moods. Projects like Pray For Paris and FLYGOD are like those albums you forget you even have playing in the background, just you drowning in his flow and samples.
One of the best lyricists to hold a mic, the late and great MF DOOM. Personally, the king of the underground scene. Projects like MM.. FOOD and Madvillainy with Madlib just scrape the surface of his elusive person. His countless alter egos and LPs make a great rabbit hole to delve into. His rhyming is top-notch, every word just fits in like a perfect piece to a puzzle, with the same satisfying feeling as well. All caps when you spell the man name.
