In 2013, the MIT Learning Creative Learning course attracted many teachers and educators interested in to learn about the Lifelong Kindergarten philosophy and Scratch. After this, some of these passionate people also took the Creative Computing Online Course that provided us with the opportunity to not only go deeper into these new ideas but to even know and better interact with the new community.

In the following years, we met fellows in their countries or at Scratch Conferences, and this made and strengthened our connections. Aiming to create opportunities and join efforts, a small and enthusiastic group started the "Global Educators Community". The primary goal of this team is (1) to connect amazing people, (2) to provide each other with new ideas and experiences, (3) to help achieve objectives and (4) to spread the opportunities for better education across the world.

  • These are some benefits of being part of this community:
  • The power of informal and connected learning: "TOGETHER WE ARE BETTER"; Excitement from knowing that educators around the globe are connected to help solve problems and keep up with changes and new technologies;
  • Find a common voice so as to influence reform;
  • Bringing global ideas to a local arena: expanding beyond one classroom to others in your country and the world;
  • Reflection and improvements on practices for better the teaching in many parts of the world!
