OUR COMMUNITY ACTION PROJECT

Our community Action Project is about food waste.

We went to Ciutat Cooperativa primary school to teach the children in the 6th grade about the importance of the food waste and how to reuse food. We gave a presentation, and later, the children played a board game we had created. You could move forward if you got a card about reusing food and you moved backwards if you read a card about wasting food.

It was a good experience and kids learned and had fun.

Diary:

16th April: We decided that we could do a little board game.
18th April: We started with the game draft.
25th April: We decided what were the materials that we were going to use to make the project.
2nd May: We continued making the game.
7th May: We finished the questions about the topic of our game: Food waste. And we finished the presentation that we were going to show in the class of the school that we were going to do the game.
14th May: We sent the email to the school. And we started doing the game instructions.
16th May: We wrote the questions.
23rd May: They had already answered to us about which day we were going to go to Ciutat Cooperativa school and we thanked them.
6th June: We went to the school for our presentation and to make kids play the board game.

Good morning,

We are boys and girls from the Rafael Casanova High School, of the second year of ESO. We want to communicate with you because we are doing an English project of "Global scholars" and would like to make a game of "Food Waste", together with a presentation so that your 6th grade students know what food waste is. As our classmates did last year, we suggest to come to your school. Could we come on Wednesday June 6 from 9:30 to 10:30? If you agree with this proposal, please contact us. And if not, too, to find a new date or another interested school. Thank you for your attention.
