Singapore Pen Pals Hosting on Campus 2023+2024
In 2023 and 2024, I was able to participate in a virtual pen pal dialogue with a sister school in Singapore. These discussions gave everyone the opportunity to learn more about other cultures as well as share important aspects of their own culture. In 2024, I had the opportunity to host one of the students I had been getting to know on my school's campus. We exchanged gifts, talked about culture, everyday life, movies, music, etc. We were also able to work on a Design Thinking Challenge Assignment and learn to collaborate and communicate in new ways.

Kenya Tutoring Program
In the Summer of 2025, before my senior year, I volunteered to tutor students in Nairobi, Kenya, for 12 weeks over Zoom. I was a math tutor and tutored a class of about 20 students with another student math tutor. I taught them topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and all about fractions. Through this experience, I was able to learn more about effective communication as well as practice teaching skills. I was able to enjoy the children's songs and the dances they showed me, and all about Kenyan culture.
