Global Plant Health Assessment: State of Play as of 2 October 2021
The matrix on this page summarises the contents of GPHA Reports. PlantSystems have been categorised as: cereal systems; roots, tubers, banana and plantains; fruit trees and grapevine; peri-urban horticultural systems and household gardens; urban vegetation; and forests. Each row corresponds to a given plant-specific system in a given ecoregion in the world. The columns refer to the overall state of plant health, and the main ecosystem service classes as influenced by plant health: provisioning (including food); regulating (including climate); and cultural.
Each cell shows an icon with a square and an arrow. The colour of the square reflects the state of plan systems with respect to the characteristics considered in each column and the arrow represents the assessed trend.
The metrics used for states (colours) and for trends (arrows) are as follows:
Each icon in each cell is the result of consultations amongst teams of scientists with expertise on the subject. Each team consists of a Lead Scientist assisted by on average 2-3 experts. Each icon is fact-based, grounded on data retrieved from scientific publications from the world literature.
This is a current overview as of October 2, 2021. This is not a final result. One main goal of the Global Plant Health Assessment Workshop is to address each PlantSystem in each Ecoregion, and (1) confirm the assessments, and (2) if possible, add additional assessments in cells that are currently empty.
