1. Data Collection Glimmer is designed with a Privacy-First philosophy.
No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or sell your name, email, or browsing history.
No Text Logging: The text you refine and the replies you draft are never sent to our servers. They are sent directly from your browser to Google’s API.
2. Data Storage
Local Storage: Your settings (Style preferences, Social platform selection) and your Gemini API key are stored locally on your computer using chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync.
Persistence: This data remains on your device until you clear your browser data or uninstall the Extension.
3. Third-Party Services (Google Gemini API) When you use Glimmer to refine text, your input is sent to Google’s Gemini API for processing. This data transfer is subject to Google’s Generative AI Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review their policies regarding how they handle API data.
4. Network Requests Glimmer only makes network requests to:
generativelanguage.googleapis.com (To process your text). No other external communication occurs.
5. Security Because your API key is stored locally, the security of your key depends on the security of your personal device and your Chrome profile. We recommend using a screen lock and keeping your browser updated.
