Kiev carries forward Castle Rock’s hallmark blend of strong type and reliable production, with genetics proven in both the show ring and the milk pail.
His sire, Harley Hillside Truckee River *B, has produced offspring that excel in structure and performance, including Quaking Canopy Josephine VEEE 91, a paternal half-sister to Kiev. Josie earned Grand Champion in Placerville, CA (May 14, 2022), followed by another Grand Champion win in Fallon, NV (June 19, 2022), where she went on to be named Best in Show—a testament to the quality this line produces.
On the maternal side, Kiev is out of Castle Rock Sarajevo, a doe backed by the strength of GCH Castle Rock Sarafina 2*M EEEE 92, a finished Grand Champion known for her milking ability and beautifully correct structure. Sarafina’s influence has been consistent in producing daughters with balance, capacity, and longevity.
Kiev is proving himself through his daughters, who exhibit beautifully attached udders with high escutcheons, making them both productive and long-lasting. They are noted for being easy to milk out, a valuable trait in working herds. Structurally, his kids carry long, level top lines that make them competitive in the ring and practical in the barn.
