This is a short session explaining how to get into gliding and what gliding is all about!

It is packed full of quizzes, first hand experiences and tonnes of chances to ask questions. 

This course is free to attend and is done via Jitzi Meet.

This course is designed to offer you an introduction into the the amazing world of gliding, it free to attend and packed full of tonnes of useful information.

This course is made up of: 

• Week 1: Requirements to fly XC 

• Week 2: Preflight Preparations

• Week 3: Airspace, Radio, Notams, Weather 

• Week 4: Landing somewhere different 

This course is designed to cover multiple features of navigation. 

• Courses will be done over 4 weeks for 45 minutes every Thursday evening via Zoom. 

• Courses are designed to be around 5-10 people per group as they offer a chance for everyone to practice and ask questions. Alternatively, smaller or larger groups can be done by contacting gliderpilotgroundschool@gmail.com

• This course is designed to be engaging and interesting with quizzes, wider reading and interactive sessions.

• The cost of this is £20 for a 4-week course. 

In this session, you are free to ask as many questions about the Bronze Theory Exam. 

• There will also be lots of hints and tips to make sure you're 100% prepared for the exam. 

• The session is aimed to 1 to 1 as it offers a highly personalised experience.

• The cost is £10 per person per session. 

• The minimum age to get a FRTOL is 14. 

• You must pass both the PPL Communication theory and practical exam. 

• Demonstrate an English Language Proficiency (ELP) of Level 4, 5 or 6. CAA Guidance for ELP 

• Why get a FRTOL? Not only does it allow you to operate on Aircraft Radio frequencies, transit controlled airspace and build your confidence on using the radio. It is free to apply for or add onto another licence. More Detailed Info can be found here!
