So you want to give gliding a go? Here's your 4 step guide on how to get started
Take a look at the BGA Website to see what gliding is all about.
Book yourself a Introductory Flight at one of 80 gliding clubs around the UK.
Ask about the availability and process of learning to fly at your chosen gliding club.
You're ready for take off now! Take a look at the training course to see what you have to do to complete your first solo!

Just like getting your driving licence, you can work towards getting your full Sailplane Pilots Licence (SPL) in gliders. Pretty much you full driver's licence but for gliders! For an overview of the licence, take a look at the BGA website for an great overview . An SPL allows you to act as pilot in command in gliders.
Did you know? If you hold a flying licence (except in balloons), you can credit 10% of your total flight time as PIC up to a maximum of 10 hours towards your PPL(A). For example, if you had 70 hours PIC in gliders, you could credit 7 hours of this time towards your PPL(A). (As per FCL.210.A )
