Welcome to Gravesend Youth Academy for Girls and Boys

At Gravesend Youth Academy, we are passionate about introducing children and young people to the exciting world of hockey. Our goal as a community club is to provide a safe, friendly, and fun environment where every participant feels welcomed and inspired. Through engaging weekly sessions, we offer an opportunity to develop hockey skills while enjoying the thrill of teamwork and physical activity.

Each session is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of hockey while focusing on three key principles:

1. Being Active – Promoting fitness and healthy habits through dynamic hockey drills and interactive gameplay in an inclusive setting.

2. Having Fun – Ensuring every practice is enjoyable, filled with energy, and creates memorable experiences on and off the pitch.

3. Building Positive Relationships – Fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendships that last beyond the game.

It’s a chance for children and young players to explore their potential and become part of a thriving hockey community.
Whether beginners or experienced players, all are welcome to join us and discover the excitement of hockey!

Training Sessions
2025 - 2026 Season (September - April)
Sessions are FREE and run every 5 to 6 weeks during the hockey season.   Sessions are open to all children and young people off all abilities.

Wednesday Evenings 5.30pm - 6.30pm is hosted by Gravesend Ladies HC
@ Gravesend Rugby Club Astroturf, Donald Biggs Drive, Gravesend DA12 2TL

Age Groups
7 - 12 Rangers (School Years 4 - 6)
12 + Mavericks (School Years 7+)

What you need...

Sticks will be available..  Wear trainers or astro trainers (no studs) and appropriate sports wear dependent on weather. 
Always bring plenty of water for hydration.

Welfare and Safeguarding

The welfare and safeguarding of our players is of paramount importance at Gravesend Ladies Hockey Club, all coaches have completed a DBS check through England Hockey as well as safeguarding training.
