Intended for GameMaster III and V+ Training
Intended for GameMaster III and V+ Training
Section 1: Introduction
GameMasters are crucial in keeping ImperialRP entertained and active by organizing and hosting events daily. As a GM III, you have been given the ability to host off-maps. Events are an excellent opportunity to showcase your storytelling skills and provide unique roleplay experiences for the community. As you host off-maps, it's important to remember not to dictate or control the roleplay but rather to let it unfold naturally and adapt to the various solutions that players may come up with.Â
Section 2: Responsibilities
As a GM III, you have been given access to a broader range of weapons. However, it's essential to use these weapons responsibly and not abuse their power.
In addition to hosting your events, you are responsible for assisting other GMs if they need help with their events. Keep an eye on staff chat and offer support, but remain calm and respectful.
When hosting off-maps, it's important to keep the action going and ensure that all battalions have something to do. This could include setting up tasks for IC or Engineers to complete, providing Shock with a prisoner to detain, or releasing AI ships for Starfighters to combat.
To create a smooth and enjoyable experience for players, removing unnecessary props and having people spread out across multiple conflict areas is essential.
As a more experienced GM, you can share your knowledge with your colleagues. If you see someone struggling, don't hesitate to offer assistance and advice respectfully. Remember that it's essential to respect other people's events and not try to take over.
Section 3: Off-Maps
Off-map events are a key responsibility for Tick III+ GMs. To set up an off-map event, follow these steps:
Open the !menu
Go to the maps tab
Select your desired map
Force change to the new map
Confirm the change
Once the off-map event is complete, return to the correct ISD map: rp_star_destroyer_glv3.
When hosting an off-map event, it is essential to keep the action flowing while ensuring that all battalions have something to do. This may involve setting up tasks for specific groups, such as IC or Engineers, providing opportunities for Shock troopers to detain prisoners, and AI ships for Starfighters to combat.
Additionally, removing any unnecessary props and having people spread out across multiple areas of conflict is crucial. Finally, remember to have an Admin+ on hand to set spawns, jail points, and various enemies to ensure smooth gameplay.
Section 4: Assisting GameMasters
As a GameMaster, sharing your knowledge and experience with others is important. If you see a fellow GM struggling, feel free to offer assistance and guidance. However, it is essential to remember to respect their event and decision-making and to suggest ideas rather than forcing your agenda. You can demonstrate your commitment to the team and the community by assisting others and showing confidence in your abilities.
Section 1: Introduction
As a GM V+, you are expected to take on a leadership role within the GM team, supervising and assisting lower-ranked GMs as needed. This may include stepping in to help with a lower-ranked GM's sim or event or addressing any issues on the server. If you are unable or unwilling to effectively supervise and assist other GMs, you may be demoted.
You should be assisting lower-ranking GMs and be available if any GameMasters have questions, queries, or concerns. Overall, you have 3 main areas of responsibility:
Supervising and Assisting GMs
Hosting Mega Events
Training the New GMs
Section 2: Mega Events
As a GM V+, you can now plan and host Mega Events, which are large-scale events that consist of both On-Ship and Off-Ship sections. To get your Mega Event approved, you should prepare a detailed document outlining the plan for the event, including the map to be used, the actors needed, and any other relevant information. Once your document is ready, speak to any Senior Gamemaster+ to get your event approved.
Section 3: Training
As a GM V+, you are also expected to be a trainer for lower-ranked GMs, introducing new GMs to the team and helping them understand the basics or providing training to GMs who have reached certain milestones or certifications. If requested, you should be willing to assist with any problems that arise, and you may be asked to provide your expert opinion on various situations by SGM+. Your ideas will be held in high regard. You will also be able to Strike a TGM - GM IV if three GM V+ agree.
