Intended for Trial GameMaster and GameMaster 0+ Training
GameMasters play a crucial role in keeping ImperialRP entertained and active by organizing and hosting events daily. As a GameMaster, it is important to understand the basic expectations and requirements for the role, as well as familiarize yourself with the GameMaster Guidelines.
Roles and Tags
If accepted by an application, new Gamemasters need to contact a Lead Admin+ to gain the relevant roles and tags.
If accepted through an interview, the Gamemaster hosting the interviews will ensure the relevant roles and tags are provided.
Message an online member of SMT with the trainees' Name, SteamID, and Donation rank so they can receive in-game tags & forum tags.
Have them sign into tools.gaminglight.com. Then have them click “Staff Account”, and a personalized Discord invite will be there for them to join. (Get their TS linked to their forums account)
If this doesn't work, speak to JMT+ for an Invite Link.
Have them put ‘[GL]’ in their Steam name and have them change their nickname in the Staff Discord to what they are commonly known.
Tell them to request tags in #discord-tag-requests.
After receiving tags, explain to them the Staff Discord and how it works:
Meeting excuses, GM information, Public Dupes, Event Claiming, Actor Blacklists, etc...
Passive Events
Passive events provide players with a roleplay-orientated situation that doesn't involve constant combat.
Combat Events
Combat events are the main source of action. They include constant objectives and action through stages following a coherent plot.
Side Activities
Side activities are small scenarios that provide the players with some action.
Simulations
Simulations are any non-roleplay-related action.
The following commands will help during all events:

Here are some things to consider when planning an event:
What is the goal or objective of the event? This can be as simple as providing entertainment or as complex as completing a specific mission.
What resources will you need to host the event? This may include props, NPC models, weapons, vehicles, or other in-game assets.
Where will the event take place? The area should be appropriate for the event you are hosting and have enough space for the expected number of players.
How long will the event last? Determine a start and end time for the event but do not worry if it takes longer than expected.
What role will Gamemasters play in the event? Will they provide support?
Planning an event can be a lot of work, but taking the time to prepare correctly will ensure the event is successful. Always be open to feedback and suggestions from players, and be willing to adapt your plans if necessary.
Gamemasters should always cautiously approach event creation, as specific actions can cause lag or other technical issues. Therefore, it's essential to think carefully about the tools and commands and use them sparingly to avoid causing problems. If events do not go as planned, it is ok to downsize and improvise.
"Net_Graph 4" is a console command that displays various network and performance statistics in real-time while on the server.
The following is a breakdown of the different displays of the net graph:
The two main items are the Lerp Graph and the Choke. If the Lerp Graph constantly increases in red, the server is struggling. If the choke is constantly increasing in number, the server is struggling.
Explain a brief plot for the event within at least 3 sentences. Include the type of the event at the beginning with an estimated time at the end.
Also, make sure to include:
To connect, click the following link: steam://connect/104.234.220.221:27015. Or put "connect imperialrp.gaminglight.com" in console
Make sure you are in the Event Briefing room when performing the event.
Call for actors using the /event "message". Then once all the GMs and actors are in the TeamSpeak, explain how you want the event to go.
If the event's going differently than planned due to role-play scenarios, adapt. Don't force people by making out-of-character announcements and telling people what to do.
Check the chat to see when players conduct certain actions through an advert.
Don't Stress; you're hosting an event, it can be hard to manage, and we all make mistakes.
Now you will need to get your Tags in the main Discord so you can host events. In addition, you'll need the Imperial Game Master and the Announcement Access 2.0. If you are eager to start and don't get them after 30mins, approach a member of Imperial's JMT and ask them. Thank you for Joining the GM Team; remember, you might make a mistake, but that's okay. We're all constantly learning!
