Our studio members use these samples to plan how they will glaze their own creations and customers use it to choose colours for custom orders. Even when all 250+ colours blends are in place, it takes a long time to sift through the choices and imagine what each might look like on a bowl, plate, mug, etc.
Once a piece is glazed and fired, you cannot remove the glaze. Ceramic artists lose a lot pieces to trial and error. Imagine a virtual solution for this!
These little cups are also fragile, occasionally disappear and currently only useful in the studio.
My GLAZee app will allow studio members to access the colour samples from home, try them on their projects and experiment virtually before committing to glazing a piece for real.
Including a customer portal will encourage consumers to shop for local, handmade items and, hopefully, alleviate some of the strain on our global, mass distribution of goods and reduce our carbon footprint. Having a more personal connection to your dishes, as a consumer, will encourage you to use them longer and take better care of them.
Shopping local and supporting small businesses couldn't be easier!
