My wife Laura and I have spent the last thirty years in Malaysia where I helped pioneer and non-profit integrating sport and education.
We arrived in 1992 with one son (Kyle) and by the time we returned to the US last year, Kyle had been joined by Keegan, Kirk and Karsten, Kaitlyn...and daughters-in-law Emily and Nat. It must be the water over there! :-)
When we returned last July, I decided to return to the classroom after an absence of thirty years, but with calling still intact!
I kid you not, that was the question I got from my student today in class when I told him about my need to earn some extra $$$ this summer and not simply kick back and relax. It was a teachable moment, a chance to look into his eye balls, challenging him to live with purpose, making a difference in the lives of others. I guess that is one reason why I am looking forward not simply earning needed income but meeting people, helping them in whatever way I can and leaving behind more than a smaller "Do List!"
