It was said to be the cause of The End.
When all the planets would align, when all the continents combined. The world so ended afterwards, from diseases and wars that seemingly had no end in sight.
When the survivors awoke, they had realized the new shape of land. Now under one landmass, the shifting Earth beneath them felt expansive, endless, and but devoid of life.
Regarded as useless to explore all corners, people stayed within their boundaries. Fearing the outside influences now known as “THE OBLIVION”. It’s very easy to get lost.
Stumbling into this world can be an intense experience, with many unsure of how to handle all the space around them.
Every few nights, Locations change. It starts with some slight slipping, roads increase, rivers ebb and flow in new directions, cities seem to teleport to entirely different locations. Making mapping the Oblivion utter pointless at some points. Many however, have taken the challenge, with Cartography becoming an artform itself.
New buildings appear, roads realign themselves, previously dead ends become passageways to the hidden city. Despite its confusing nature, it brings itself to a burst with color and life. Nature cycles are constantly replenished and many creatures have done well to adapt to quick changes... but the people have yet to do the same.
Scientists are still struggling to uncover this phenomenon. Many superstitious folk liken it to the shifting of the Fae Court system. With more humid seasons given to the Seelie court, and dryer spells given an unseelie context. This will often bleed into political discourse, which can cause some predictable upsets and triumphs in various communities.
Time flows strangely in The Oblivion… One minute, the sun begins to rise in the East, but as you turn to look at your watch, it starts coming down into the West, setting for one more long night.
It’s almost always Sunset or Sunrise here. Perhaps, this is because most activities are centered around Faeries who are naturally crepuscular. It’s rare to see the sun at high noon, but oddly enough, it’s not uncommon to get caught in the middle of night.
Mornings in the Oblivion are light and cool. Radiation is most prevalent during this time, so most stay indoors.
Midnight is when most revenants are out...
Time moves slowly in the Oblivion, very slowly… and yet some say it can go very fast if you’re not careful.

Known colloquially as "The Commons", these 9 Cities are the main building blocks of the Oblivion, or at least, they like to think of themselves as such. It's considered the largest "county" in the Oblivion, due to a treaty signed between the cities... or WILL be signed. It's an incredibly recent development.
VALHALLA
Marble bones burst from the ground, abandoned buildings litter the constantly foggy grounds. Valhalla gods no longer walk the lands, under a weight of controversial rulers, and its people are doing their best to get back to normal. Or make a new normal.
NYSA
A rocky beacon stretches out from the foggy hills below. On its cliff hold bright red flags, both a warning and a welcoming. Rising from ashes of a fallen kingdom, the civilized souls of Nysa make their way towards outsiders with sharp grins and judgmental eyes.
HYPERION
Hidden within the clouds is said to be one of the most beautiful patches of land, one that rivals the beauty of the heavens. Its graceful pathways and gorgeous marble homes lead many to believe it to be the lost haven that everyone is seeking… but the oligarchs of the kingdom have much different ideals.
PARADISO
Behind foreboding gates that lay stranded in the middle of the desert, it’s said that there is a city with roads paved with blood and gold. A harsh totalitarian nation with cult teachings, a brutal military, and rising tension. After dealing with famines, droughts and even a horrible plague, Paradiso is still standing.
EMPYREAN
Located somewhere deep in the endless caves & forests of the Grunge, a god died. Killed by its worshipers, the land now stained with blood, made life thrive! Small settlements live in secluded caverns and patches of vine-covered ruins, loosely calling themselves a "city".
OLYMPUS
Rocky beaches, active piers, and a relaxing vacation spot are some of the most common descriptors of Olympus. One of the smallest cities but also the most sought after. Its unique sections of islands make it fun to traverse, and being one of the youngest cities means it doesn't hold the harsh histories of many others.
ELYSIUM
There's an oasis at the edge of the desert, through a chasm of dark mountains, covered by glowing moss, blankets of thick fog, sprawling black trees, and hints of something chemical in the air. Rumors say Old Gods once roamed here, leaving their nuclear presence behind. A new youth now hides in the shadows. Their faces in the fog, they know who you are, they know too much...
AVALON
The forest was violated, a horrific deal was made, which drained the lands and chased out the natives. What was left was a rotting wooden corpse, picked at by scavenging animals. Welcome to those who are internally decaying.
ARCADIA
Where the blasting sands of the Badlands roam past or where the crashing shores lift the black sands of the volcanic beaches, only one group of people braves the storm. They travel frequently, appreciating the badlands they roam and respecting its nature. Arcadians believe nature is the only true law and they live off the land as respectfully as they can.
