When the people awoke from their slumber, they discovered that all their technical marvels had been buried. Years of hard work destroyed beneath them. Most would excavate some of these impressive ruins, but with that, changes needed to be addressed.
Right now, the biggest concern is getting humanity back to its glory by not tripping on the mistakes of former civilizations.
Massive efforts are being put into developing the wastelands around them into thriving communities for everyone. The only problem is that nature is seemingly out to get them
Niches, sometimes called "Affinities", are speculated "properties" of energy based on the Oblivions most common sources: Vigor, Ichor & Ambrosia.
Not all Oblivions believe this structure, as many liken it more of horoscope. But there are many magic-based classes that specify teachings in one of the follow categories.

Vigor is essentially blood, something in all of "us". It represents background radiation, as many in the Oblivion live among radio fallout. Often used for Treating Minor Medical Issues (Cuts, Bruises, etc)
Physical Changes: Odd Eye & Flesh Colors. Glittering & Dripping Textures.
Mental Changes: Causes a feeling of stability & calmness. Withdrawals cause feelings of rage & dizziness.
ICHOR : MIND, PLASMA, GAS, ELECTRICITY, GHOST, COOL or VIBRANT COLORS : GAMMA RADIATION
Found deep within the Earth, Ichor can be found in many states from Solid, to Liquid, to it's most potent: Gas. It produces a lively spark, comparable to fossil fuels and coals, but has the environmental affect of nuclear energy.
For me, Ichor is both the easiest and hardest to explain element. It is the main cause of revenancy, which is basically radioactive poisoning. BUT it also powers electricity, it makes cars run, its the reason Golems can even live and yet... what is it?
It's dangerous, but beautiful. And regardless of what the people of the Oblivion believe, it is natural.
Physical Changes: "Inorganic" growths (Gems, Wires, Cloth, Etc), Electrical/Veiny Markings, Prismatic/Rainbow Colors, Mist/Fog/Gas, Zombie Revenant Stuff
Mental Changes: Causes feelings of "Sanity" & "Connectedness", withdrawal causes feelings of Spiraling & Isolation.
AMBROSIA : SOUL, SOILDS, DREAMS, SPACE, PASTELS & METALLIC TONES : BETA RADATION
Ambrosia is a man-made concept, a forbidden fruit, the idea of "sin". It was created by people to produce euphoria, but many fear it. The best way I can describe it is like... cooking, dancing, singing, etc. Basically the "soul" (for lack of a better term).
It can be embedded into objects & food, thus is often associated with Alcohol, Gold, & Art.
Physical Changes: Extra Limbs; wings, tails, horns, extra eyes, etc. Metallic Markings & Textures. Constellations & Space Things.
Mental Changes: Causes feelings of Euphoria & Love. Withdrawals causes feelings of Anxiety & Paranoia.
Clear is a state of mind. Clear is those who wish not to seek a path or think about their capabilities. Clear is for those who have yet to experience this side of the Oblivion. Clear is for those have not come in contact with magical forces or mystics.
Based of the physical location of the void, dark, all consuming, unpredictable, in some causes seen as actively malicious or just a force of nature.
Technology in Glorious seems almost alive. Wires like Veins, Motherboards like Organs, CPUs made like Brains.
Participating in rituals before using computers and processors is common among many regions. Some cities even have strict laws on usage for computers.

There’s a heavy Taboo against Nuclear energy. The world is the way it is because of a massive nuclear arms war... with big heavy machinery... so many Humans were taught to fear this type of energy. It’s almost instinctual now to be wary of electricity. Steam reaches the line of “close to scary but not too scary”. It’s big and clunky, making it difficult to make weapons out of.
Most lights are powered by oil, gas, and solar. Air conditioning is done naturally through wind, but aside from that, it’s suffering through the heat. Fans provide some relief, created with cogs and wind-up contraptions.
There’s a lot of creative freedom for tech.
