Jeremiah (Secretary) and Jessica Widmer (Co-President)
Jessy and Jeremiah live in NE Ohio with their 3 children (Eli, Carly and Isaiah). Eli is 12 years old and has classic PKU. Eli was diagnosed at 4 days old and has been on diet ever since. The Widmers have been an active part of MACPAD for 10 years and are excited to continue this journey with the GLPKUA. Eli is 3 sport athlete, a responder to Kuvan, and lives on 12 grams of protein a day. “Our goal is to connect with and support families who are trying to navigate PKU.We know how challenging it can be, and we know how crucial surrounding yourself with others going through the same thing can be.”
Eddie (Treasurer) and Staci Kaspryzk (Co-President)
Staci and Eddie live in Buffalo, NY with their daughter Norah and their 4 -legged child, Carolina. Norah is 9 years old and was diagnosed with PKU at 10 days old. She has followed a low protein diet and has a love of formula that cannot be described. Norah has always said she loves having PKU because she doesn’t have to eat meat (she is a huge animal advocate).
The Kasprzyk family has been active in the PKU community for 9 years. Norah has been to Washington, DC to help advocate for the MNEA 5 times with her mom and grandma. Staci and Eddie came across MACPAD when they were looking for support and have not looked back. They love to be able to give to other families what they were looking for and hope to continue this with GLPKUA. They realized how much the support means to their daughter and being around children and adults that have PKU and want to be able to help families with that locally. As a family, they travel all over to attend PKU events and cannot wait to host more in the Great Lakes region.
