Being part of any community involves the duty of making everyone feel included, respected, and helped in realizing their goals. I consider service work to be a fundamental aspect my professional and personal life as a member of the academic community.
Below you can find a summary of my service work.
Graduate Student Seminar Series Coordinator, Clark University, Worcester, MA Aug 2020 - May 2021
The Graduate Student Seminar Series provides the opportunity to Ph.D. students at Clark University to present their work in front of their fellow graduate students and faculty members in order to receive feedback, comments, and increase the level of cooperation within the department.
As coordinator of the seminar series, my duties included:
Invite speakers from the body of Ph.D. students and Ph.D. candidate to present at the seminar.
Schedule and moderate talks and presentations.
Upload presentation materials on a dedicated webpage to make them available to Department members.
Volunteer, First Year Graduate Students Orientation, Clark University, Worcester, MA Aug 2019, Aug 2022
Every year the Department of Economics at Clark University holds an orientation for new graduate students admitted to the Ph.D. program. Two senior graduate students every year participate to the orientation by helping new students with several tasks and answering questions relative to the program.
One of the core responsibility of volunteers is to participate in the "first-time" TA session, organized to assist students who will be becoming TAs for the first time in the incoming semester by answering questions, sharing experiences, and provide information about expectations and good practices for TAs at Clark University.
