JAN 2021 - AUG 2023
Curating and maintaining a KPIs Report, designed to facilitate the understanding of Journals’ performance against yearly objectives. The KPIs report was designed with attention to reproducibility. The report contains data visualisation and specifically designed colour formatting to allow a quick understanding of the trends. To ensure the report is updated quickly and without errors, a series of automations were put in place, without compromising the report's flexibility, so that other team members can explore and manipulate the data independently. The report was used by the Publishing Director, the VP of Nature Journals, and the Editorial Directors.
JAN 2020 - OCT 2020
Creation of an interactive Data Studio dashboard to quickly show manuscripts transferred from one journal to another at Nature. I worked with senior management and directors to make sure to create intuitive and easy-to-interpret data visualisations. This project involved a large amount of data wrangling- which was conducted in R- and creative solutions to problems encountered.
SEP 2025 - SEP 2026
Served on the student/staff committee representing PhD students across the Earth Science & Engineering department. Organised and delivered a programme of social and academic events to foster community. Acted as a departmental representative, liaising between PhD students and staff to raise concerns, gather feedback, and advocate for student well-being, in particular for students with disabilities. Supported incoming PhD students in transitioning into research life, including contributing to onboarding resources for new cohort members. I organised and chaired a panel discussion with academics, editors, and teaching fellows at the annual PhD department conference.
SEP 2023 - SEP 2025
Worked with the Student/Staff Committee at the Grantham Institute to improve the experience of women PhD students in the doctoral training program at the Grantham Institute. I chaired and organised a panel discussion. I regularly organised seminars and careers workshops with alumni, industry partners and academics.
DEC 2020 - MAY 2021
I worked with a Senior Editor at Nature to develop a proposal for the new thematic journal Nature Water, launched in 2023, which covers different UN Sustainable Development Goals related to water research, from policy to treatment technology. My role was to provide bibliometrics and citation analyses for the proposal and inform discussions related to the scope of the journal.
DEC 2021 - MAY 2022
I led the proposal for this new Nature Portfolio Journal. I analysed the publishing and academic context for the “biodiversity” space, developing an understanding of the market and developing the journal's aims and scopes, as well as the focus areas. From this work, I produced a formal proposal, which was evaluated by Nature Portfolio’s editors, directors and VPs. The journal was subsequently launched in 2025.
